Vogue Eyewear CFDA "City Collection" Celebration!

Just the other night, I attended this amazing event to celebrate the launch of the CFDA/ Vogue Eyewear limited edition "City Collection." As the face for the Rebecca Minkoff for Vogue Eyewear sunglasses, I was of course there to represent Rebecca's "Bowery" sunglasses! Rebecca, who just had her baby boy (Congratulations!), wasn't able to make the event, but her super sweet brother came out to support us. For Rebecca Minkoff's design, it was all about New York City. There I am wearing her Bowery sunglasses, which represent the rock era of The Bowery area of lower Manhattan. Inspired by all of my favorite icons and musicians, including Kate Moss and Bob Dylan, the sunglasses couldn't be more perfect for me! For the event, I wore a full on Rebecca Minkoff outfit. When I saw the green dress at her showroom, I knew I had to wear it. That jade green color is my favorite and the red studded bag is so rock n' roll chic. Obsession much? Also, at the event were two of my favorite bloggers Aimee and Jane. Aimee is representing Miami with the Botkier shades, and Jane is representing LA with the Yeohlee shades. I love all three designers and so getting to be a part of this huge campaign was a dream! Oh and, I met one of my favorite girls ever, Alexa Chung, who was super sweet and came out to support the launch. Such an unreal night!

Magic of Herve

(Romwe top, Alexander Wang trousers, Emily Cho handbag)

So this bright yellow Emily Cho handbag is one item in my wardrobe that always completes a simple outfit. The color is so eye-catching and I love the gorgeous textured leather. It's straight out of the SS'12 collection, out later this year, and I feel lucky to get to sport this piece before it hits stores. What's super exciting is I'm also going to be featured in the next Emily Cho SS'12 ad campaign! I literally just got back to my apartment after shooting bright and early during sunrise on the rooftop of a gorgeous apartment in Greenwich. So I'm basically a huge Emily Cho fan and brought this little guy went with me almost everywhere during fashion week. Here I am backstage with my good friend Claire at the Herve Leger show! The Herve collection was absolutely beautiful. All the dresses still had the classic Herve body-con fit, but with a twist. The collection as a whole gave off an indigenous vibe, but it was still classy and sexy. And I have been seeing that the slicked back hair look is so in season again. Backstage, Bumble and Bumble worked wonders on the runway models. The simplicity in the hair made the clothes stand out even more. LOVE.

White and wide

zara shirt
h&m waistcoat
zara bag

I wore yet another new leather waistcoat the other day, I've realised it goes with everything I own and looks nice zipped up as well... I'm sure you'll see it worn many different ways within the weeks to come.

I'm having somewhat difficult converting to fall, this week it's been promised to be around 25 degrees here in london, which is really nice but (dare I say) somewhat boring..

central park and shake shack

vintage linen shirt, Saint James striped shirt, Theory shorts, vintage Coach satchel, Karen Walker sunglasses, Rachel Comey Miner boots

And here's the only other outfit I photographed in New York. It's kind of hard to be creative when you're working out of a tiny suitcase in unexpected weather. Same shorts, same bag... at least the shoes are different? Anyway, wore this to explore Central Park and hit up Shake Shack to see what all the hype was about.

So does Shake Shack compare to In-N-Out? I can only say that it wouldn't be fair to compare the two since they're two different things: Shake Shack was less of a fast food chain to me and more of a gourmet eatery. Plus In-N-Out is just something I grew up with that tastes familiar now matter where I go, you know? But that's just me I guess. Nevertheless it was delicious, so delicious in fact that I ended up going back and spending a total of $20 there that day. (Granted I never wanted to eat again after devouring a double cheeseburger, cheese fries, soda, and milkshake....)

surprise!

Playing Stylist w/ Tacori + Lucky Mag at Bloomingdale's LA

Just the other week, I was back in LA to work with Lucky Magazine on their Tacori and Bloomingdale's style event. I had the best time. Being a model, I'm normally on the other side, having people style me, so it was a very cool new experience to style other models. Of course, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. It's a whole other world to me, but I enjoyed it a lot! You have to pay a lot more attention to the girl and her body shape. I flew out to LA from NYC for the weekend just for this event! It was a great excuse to visit the west coast and see family and friends. At the Bloomingdale's in Century City, a few other style participants and I worked on a Menswear, Feminine, and Glam looks for the models. For menswear, I layered dark jewels on the gray and black tuxedo ensemble. For girly, I went with a hot pair of pink pants, glitter blouse, and bright bright jewels. For glam, I went with something a little more unexpected, like the red trousers and a glitter sweater with rockin statement Tacori jewels. I'm obsessed. The whole Tacori, Lucky mag, and Bloomingdale's team also flew in from NYC to attend. It was such a fun, casual in-store event. Getting to meet my West Coast readers who came out may have been the best part!! Currently missing Cali and the beautiful weather! I'll be back soon, I promise!

Backstage at Derek Lam with Estée Lauder

(H&M blouse, Topshop jeans, Ax + Apple necklace, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Lowluv ring, Pour la Victoire shoes)

One of the best shows I got to attend this fashion week was Derek Lam. Thanks to Estée Lauder, I got amazing tickets...and backstage passes to view the Spring '12 collection with my sister Dylana. Getting to see the collection up close before the models strut down the catwalk is always wonderful. But my favorite part? Watching the makeup artists completely transform the models. For the show, makeup was very simple, clean, and fresh. Everything was done by the beauty label that I use religiously,Estée Lauder. I loved the nude, beautiful faces and sleek hair. It's the epitome of classic chic. Even the clothes were all about clean line, beautiful textures, and some really beautiful bright colors. It was held at the large stage at Lincoln Center and I believe anyone I've ever seen in magazines was there! Such a dream show to attend. I have to admit, getting backstage was the best part!! I ran into a lot of other people that I've worked with. For the event, I went with a very simple and casual look. It was in the middle of all the craziness of fashion week and all I felt like wearing was a pair of skinnies and a button down. But I of course added a dark plum lipstick...my favorite which is Estee's "Plum Couture!" Probably the hottest shade I own!
